WARD, Jr.  (Photo Coming Soon) JESSICA JACOBS- Miss North Carolina 2008 We were very fortunate to have Jessica Jacobs, our 2008 Miss North Carolina participating in our festival.  You may have seen her on TV this past year on the show "REALITY CHECK" with the 50 other Miss America Contestants. Lieutenant Colonel Walter H. Ward, Jr., (Howard) was the Commander for the 2d Airlift Squadron at Pope Air Force Base, North Carolina.  The short-notice, combat-ready C-130E unit delivers and resupplies troops in forward battle area. The squadron is responsible for the airdrop of personnel and heavy equipment during tactical airborne operations, as well as airland and aeromedical evacuation missions from high and low altitudes to austere locations worldwide. Lieutenant Colonel Ward is married to the former Gwen Orwig of Summerville, South Carolina.  They have three children; Samuel, age 17, Susan, age 13, and Jacob, age 11.   Leslie Cottle- Our 2007 NC Strawberry Festival Queen Alice-Christian Pridgen- Our 2007 NC Strawberry Festival Princess   Come Join In The Fun With Attractions, A Parade, Pageant Queens, Live Entertainment, Bands, Clowns, Hot Air Baloons, and Strawberry Shortcake Galore!!!! FEATURING THE NC STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL BALLOON RALLY!   DIRECTIONS:  WE ARE LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF NC HIGHWAY 410 AND NC HIGHWAY 74.  IT IS 54 MILES WEST OF WILMINGTON ON 74/76 AND 30 MINUTES EAST OF HIGHWAY 95 AT LUMBERTON.  THE FESTIVAL ITSELF IS LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF 410 AND 74 AS WELL.  OTHERWISE KNOWN AS STRAWBERRY BLVD.
